Day 13... and a day off tomorrow
Oct. 28th, 2005 07:21 amOk, so I've worked some portion of the last 12 days. Now, I will acknowledge that yes, this was my choice, and yes, I am getting overtime, and that is a good thing. But... if I should get the idea to do this again at some point in the future, somebody beat me with a wet noodle and make me go re-read this post!
I'm tired, my back hurts, I'd really like to just cut off my left leg at the pelvis, I'm sick of being sincere and compassionate, my apartment is a disaster zone, and I haven't eaten a real meal that I prepared in over a week. Yes, the overtime pay will nicely pad my next paycheck and yes, I probably will have enough money to go get the car fixed, but is it really worth all of this? Yeah, I know, I used to work a 50 hour week and then go wait tables 4 nights a week, but not in a while, and I'm definitely out of that groove - and I don't have a Holly who is willing to exchange manual labor in my kitchen for several home cooked meals!
In short, will have benefits, but 6 days straight probably should be my cutoff... maybe 7. Keep that in mind Birdbrain!
