As you might be able to guess, I've been busy. Busy doing what? I'm not quite sure, but definitely busy. Basically I've gotten back on track with the walking plan and am walking 2-3-4 nights a week (depending on how often we manage to get together), have agreed to participate w/ Godspell at church as the sound board operator, have been trying to get together with the girls, have been attempting to make it to bible study, and randomly having people over for dinner. Add this all to a schedule that has me up at 7, out the door at 8, leaving work sometime between 5 and 5:30, thereby not getting home until usually 6 (if I even make it home directly after work) and all this equals no live journal updating. Bah. Need to get that fixed.
In any case. The diet was stalled, but has been restarted because we're doing a biggest loser competition at work. 9 of us have chipped in $25, and in 12 weeks, the person who loses the most weight and body fat will be awarded the cash. Strangely, I'm rather motivated by a prize award :o)
And in other news, still single.
Moving right along, I'm nearly done with my rotation through the oncology units at work, and after all the fuss I made initially, now I'm kinda sad to be leaving. I've really gotten the feel for working with these patients, and yes it's hard, and yes I've had patients die, but I feel like I'm doing good work. And, I don't really know what my next rotation will be yet, so there's that whole ominous fear of the unknown going on. The other cool thing going on is that in October, one of the other PTs and I are going to be teaching a class at the University of Kentucky on the basics of PT in the intensive care unit. Scary and exciting all at the same time. It's only 2 hours, but I'm not sure about how I'm going to present all of this stuff I know in my head, but don't really have to verbalize all that often.
Ummm... that's the overall view of life.
The short term plan involves running errands and ultimately ending up to my elbows in ink pads and paint tonight as Tara and I make invitations for Yvonne's baby shower so that we can deliver them tomorrow at church. That and getting together with Althea at some point so that we can actually organize this potluck dinner we're all having after church next Sunday. Oh yeah, and cleaning up my apartment that looks completely trashed.
More later when I come up for air again!
