Random news update of the day? About... oh.... 9 months ago I accidentally left both of my flash drives in a pocket, and they ended up in the washing machine. I found them before they made it into the drier, but still... shit. Anyway, I threw them in a bag, figured that someday I'd figure out just how fire-trucked-up they were, and if I was able to salvage any information at all. Cue 9 month period of time where they hung out in one location or another, giving me the heebie-jeebies about trying to plug them in, convinced they were dead and that through magical superpowers of death, would kill my laptop. (I never claimed to be completely rational you know.) Today.... I plugged them in, they both appear to work just fine. All of the data is there, it all pulled up easily, no errors.... the only thing I didn't do was try to save anything new. So, apparently the washing machine does not equal automatic death to flash drives (not that I'm going to try again mind you).
