5 generations
Aug. 10th, 2008 10:28 pmToday was Isabella Josephine's baptism. That would be my niece. One of the things we realized this week is that Bella is the 5th generation of our family to attend Park Church, and might even be the 5th generation baptized there (we're not sure what the status of Nannie was.... know she joined the church in 1911 as a young woman, don't know if she was baptized then or if she had been baptized there or somewhere else previously.
So... family tradition/heritage. I've always known that the house has been in the family for almost 200 years, that there's tradition practically in the ground we walk on, but this one just kind of hit home. Very interesting. Makes coming back to Newark, continuing that family legacy more tolerable.
