An email to my mom is an update on life...
Sep. 2nd, 2004 08:19 pmThe diet goes like hell. For starters, the morning I was supposed to start it, I was walking down the street to the hospital and had to stop and get sick behind a bush. No clue why, no real warning, felt icky for the rest of the day, but not really bad (I even worked all day). Anyway, that resulted in carb eating to settle my stomach. AND... I just have a bad feeling about the whole idea of kicking out one major food group. And honestly, the idea that you shouldn't eat vegetables sounds just plain wrong. So, I think I'm going to re-approach, attempt to eat lean proteins at EVERY meal, attempt to keep the starchy carbs (breads, pastas, potatoes) for dinner and the evening, which should help on the carb cravings (because I'll be sleeping when I'd be craving) and just try to eat healthy and watch the calories. That seems more sane to me. We'll see what happens. I also had my appointment at the gym today and we started me on a program and did body composition testing and whatnot. (Suffice it to say, I'm fat.) Anyway, good stuff, I'm excited, I just went shopping and bought all kinds of yummy nutritious foods. Now that I've written a book, off to do other things.
