Habeneros!

Tonight Holly and I are doing alpha prep for this amazing sound Caribbean feast that she planned for us (theoretically it's to give people a wide variety of dishes... really it's so someone else is in charge of dinner for a change ;). Anyway, thus far that has meant boiling the hell out of split peas (they come in 2 colors, yellow or green!), and chopping up a ridiculous amount of vegetables... 33 cups to be exact. The last cup was habeneros... I tried to be all intelligent, did 'em last, immediately cleaned up my knife and cutting board, washed my hands. Then I took my chocolate break to have my chocolate elegance (yum!), and mid break, happened to get chocolate on my fingers, did what any normal red blooded American girl would do and didn't waste the chocolate! Licked my fingers I did... and then my chocolate got amazingly spicy, and my lips burned, and tingled... and oh my! Whoops. Now, to remember this experience when I take my contacts out later.... wash hands 50 times first. Ok, time to go play with coconut and tamarinds.
