short update (longer one to follow)

I'm home, I'm tired, and I'm still stressed (I think my shoulders decided that I really don't have a need for a neck). But I really really really really really like Louisville. And I had 2 really good interviews, the first lasted 2 hours and the second lasted 4.5 (they wined and dined me). I should hear from both of them sometime this week (in theory). Other random tidbits include: I got totally smashed Friday night, Church this morning was very very cool, and I miss Tara. I think that's it. Oh yeah, and Ian gives the bestest hugs in the whole wide world, and he gets irritable if you tell him that someone else gives very good hugs too.

Interviews and such...

Ok, so the trip went well. After all that worrying about flying and security and whatnot it was easy as pie. Got to the airport about an hour and fourty minutes before my flight out of Rochester and it only took 20 minutes to make it from the front door to my gate. The flights themselves were decent. I had to change planes in Detroit, and while being a decent sized airport was really really easy to navigate and even though I had to change concourses and only had 50 minutes between flights I was still there with plenty of time to spare. I felw Northwest for this trip and I'll probably pick them again in the future if I have a choice, everything was smooth sailing.

Thursday night once I got in Ian and I went out for dinner and a drink or two and I got to check out his place and meet Scrappy the dog. Scrappy is quite the interesting dog... starting to understand the complaints I hear of him.

Friday morning was the interview in Louisville at Norton Healthcare. I think it went well, it lasted about 2 hours and I got to speak with the HR person and the department chair. I hate those "what do you think makes you a good employee?" questions and the like... I never feel like I give a good answer. The benefits package is amazing, the pay rate very good, and the position sounds very interesting and exciting. It'll give me the flexibility I want and the possibility of cross training with the children's hospital and possibly transferring over if there's an opening. All in all, I think that if I'm offered that position I'm probably going to take it.

After that interview, I got in the car and drove to Clarksville, TN. Now there is a strange little town if I ever did see one.

More later...
